Um, my computer just did something funny... hope I'm not posting this one twice. That would be crap.
Anyway, I continue to test out my trial version of Painter 12 and I'm LOVING IT. It's definitely on the Christmas list.
I wanted to try drawing something photorealistic without using my usual strategy, so I sketched this up over 3-4 hours by JUST LOOKING at the photo I was referencing (from The Beast Below). No grids, or bits of tracing to keep my proportions correct. I was a bit afraid to do it, but I'm very pleased with the results. I found I could be a lot more creative and I had a lot more fun with it than I usually do. And I've mixed my media (6B pencil and acrylics) as well, don't think I've ever really done that before.
Look at all the learning and new things! C:
