Miss Foreman by Girl-on-the-Moon Miss Foreman by Girl-on-the-Moon
Distracting myself from SftT once again, I've done up a rough concept of a modern Susan, the Doctor's granddaughter.
Just imagining what she might wear had she returned to Gallifrey. Kind of a semi-Time War outfit... thing. And I'm not trying to draw Carol Ann Ford by the way, this would be a future regeneration of hers. She totally gets to be ginger.

Doctor Who and all characters copyright BBC.
Design copyright me, *Girl-on-the-Moon.

Many thanks to *SenshiStock for the pose! :)

Other Time Lord costume designs are over here if you're interested:

Anyway... back to writing that comic... D:

I always felt Ace would be in charge of the Time Agency, humans fighting for the Time Lords before they went all rassilonmental and bad...with the Brig as some kind of adviser. In fact I would go as far as to say, that Captain Jacks missing two years, and memories of the Daleks, come from when Ace was his Boss. As Time Lord and Human, she would make sense :)

For some reason, I don't think that Susan could Regenerate.

I always liked the idea of her having to go back to Gallifrey for the Time War. I didn't think about her regeneration though... Making her ginger was a nice twist.

They should bring in more Time Lords besides the Master. I would love to see the return of Susan, Romana, the Rani, the Meddling Monk, and maybe the War Chief too. They could bring in the original actresses of Susan, Romana, and the Rani, and just have them all regenerate.

I don't know if it's due to the angel/whatever of the hips/belt... but she sorta looks pregnant. I mean, early in pregnancy... but then again I just finished my finals, so I don't think my eyes/brain are working correctly.

Ooooh looks like something you would wear for space age rock climbing, I could imagine Susan leaving the citadel down and again just to go rock climbing on the red mountains. And then totally getting the book thrown at her by the head of her Chapter. Maybe even going outside the citadel to visit the exiled Gallireyans that left technology behind. Ooooh fun times indeed.

Gah you design costumes so well, nice touch with the use of the hexagon as a reference to the typical shapes used by them, in TARDIS design and their alphanumeric things as well. Also, fingerless gloves rock teh socks.

There's nothing better than fingerless gloves for costume design. Instant awesome. :)
Now that you mention it, it is a bit rock climb-y, which I didn't mean to do at all. I want to think that Susan got less useless somewhere along the line, and rock climbing might actually be a good fit for her character development.
Sucks that she's dead now. Effectively. We can assume.

Well I imagine that all Time Lords got the call to return home. Maybe she was forced to go, maybe she was picked up. But it's a funny thing when you realize Susan isn't really her name either, as she took her name from the junk yard where they landed.
Yeah, it sucks that they are all dead, Romana, Susan, Obi-wan, Uncle Ben, Mr and Mrs Wayne, the whole of Krypton...man that was a bloody war.

I really wish there could be a way to tell more of the Doctor's academy life, growing up with the Master, the eventual fall out, his youth, but telling it could harm what we see of the character now. There is that balance between telling too little and too much that helps him remain an enigma but at the same time making him sound experienced and learned.

Yeah, it's either Larna or Arkytior, no one seems to be able to agree or be sure on that one. It really shouldn't be so hard to agree on fictional fact... D:

You forgot Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru. Jesus. (And Jesus.)

I know right? I've always loved the little stories we get out the Master every once and a while, like drinking in Lowtown etc. but any more would destroy the mystery.
I used to do an RPG with a friend of mine, and I played all the real characters while she played her Time Lady OC. Since the Doc and her OC had been to school together and all that, I HAD to work out a kind of story for him so we could be on the same page. So, I've got my big ol' theory, but I don't think we should ever know for sure. Ever. You hear me BBC?!

I did love the Master's story about playing in his father's fields when they where children. It was an aww moment that reminded me that the man did at one point have some form of humanity.

Well I know the Sarah Jane adventures was originally going to be something called the "Gallereyan Chronicles." Where we find the Doctor as a little boy, it was dropped because A) it would be so damned expensive, and B) it would ruin the mystery of the character that we have now.

And really going by what we know of the first Doctor and his life before he met Ian and Barbara, I can imagine he would have been a bit of an ass before they intervened and allowed him to understand humanity.

I do like exploring characters like the Doctor in RPGs online, there is that freedom with exploring his character elements, like the ones you came up with a while back. But building up from what I know on the series lets me create my own coloured past for the guy, as well as the Master, knowing he has had the drums in his head all his life makes me think he would have some sort of Gollum thing going on with "The Master Persona" living in his head.

And all of this stuff makes for great artwork. Which reminds me, I have more pages of my Gallifrey journal to do. *Cape whoosh*

Yeah, I imagine young Doctor as kind of a prick, while Koschei was probably really quiet and shy. I see sets of guy friends like that all the time.

It's a common trait in some people. Though maybe the master was ostracized by his friends because of his slowly crumbling sanity, and of course, he would just one day go "ping" then go ye old Time Lord on someone's ass. Then perhaps run away because he was either scared or angry, never to be seen again.
