Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactStunning work. His confusion, conflict, and loss are sketched magnificently in the drawn lines of his face and sorrowful glint of his eyes.
I've seen a few other artists use this pose of him, but without such a splendid result. The impact of this work comes from the simple chiaroscuro of pencil to paper much like man himself: something initially uncomplicated made into the intricately complex—an intersecting play of dark and light. Not too many superfluous details that detract the viewers' eyes from the subject like other artists, very appropriate in this case.
