Tweed and Preposterous Hairby *Girl-on-the-Moon

Saw "Doctor Who Annual Pg 02 Colour" (thumbnail below) by *PopGunPulp This morning and I simply HAD to attempt something similar. The colouring (and inking, for that matter) was just gorgeous.

So I stole a photo of my buddy James off his facebook and used it as reference. THANKS JAMES. And for giving the piece a title. c:

And, dude, your hair is a work of art. Srsly.

An hour or so in Photoshop CS5, helped along by 'Still Got Legs' by Chameleon Circuit, Murray Gold, The Sucker Punch OST, and Edmund's 'Well Done You'.

Many thanks to ~daintyish for the fabric texture, and to google for a rusty/dusty texture. Sorry I can't give credit there. Hate it when that happens.

That hair is indeed a work of art, lol. Is it odd that it somehow reminds me of The Great Wave by Hokusai? 8D

I love the play of light on the figure, and the warm tones of the subject itself seem to make the light stand out even more.
