BWAAAH. CAN'T STOP DRAWING.
Srsly, I'm freaking myself out and my eyes feel like they're going to fall out of my head. @_@

Anyway, this is my favourite bit of the End of Time. One of the very, very few good bits. Also one of the only scenes that John actually got to ACT. It was so frustrating watching him fly around, eat tramps and cackle for about two hours that I wanted to scream. Jesus Russell, why the hell did you bring Simm back if you weren't going to use his mad acting skills?! BWARGARBLE!

ANYWAY, favourite scene in part two. Hands down. By the end of it all though, I felt WAY more sorry for the Master than the Doctor. I mean, the Master went out in the most BAD ASS way while not whining about it, and the Doctor had a 20 minute wussy sob-fest because he might be a bit different when he GETS TO KEEP BEING ALIVE.

Don't get me wrong though, I loved his that's-not-fair rant. Really good acting there. Srsly.

Print available through my Society6 shop.

EDIT June 6 2010:
Made it darker, added midtones (Now that's 3 tones instead of 2) and fixed a few mistakes. Better ya? (Tutorial here: fav.me/d36e1zu).

David really is a FANTASTIC actor. This was proven in his first episode on DW and (I think) in New Earth when he was possessed by Cassandra and he DIDN'T break out laughing XD

If you have an image for me to work from, then yes I do. I can't work from the imagination and get such photorealism.
I don't send away the original, since that's only half the process. You'd get a digital file.
Note me if you'd like to discuss it further. :)

I loved this episode too!!

The Master finally got some revenge over the 'War drums that are actually a signal to pull us out of the war and save us in 300 years but let's drive him insane for a good thousand just to make sure it works.' thing.

What I hate is the fact that they probably could have sent the message to him at any time but chose to put it in his head at EIGHT FREAKING YEARS OLD!!! Any time from before the war would have worked wouldn't it? According to some the Doctor didn't even get his call to arms until his Eighth self...although for all we know the Doctor just burns through bodies and the last 50 years of show has only been about 12 years or so.

I think the Doctor(or this version anyway) is fully aware of the fact that while yes you are regenerating and surviving the you that entered the regeneration is going to be dead and gone when you leave it.

all of the memories are still there but they're just put into a new body who has no idea of the feelings and personality that caused them.

Sure you remember all of the times you had with a person and they become a close friend of yours but they'll always be the memories of some other person.

like if you come out of a coma after a really bad accident and see your friends again with only some of your old personality. You're told stories of what you were like before and maybe you remember it a little but it'll still feel like it happened to some stranger looking through your eyes.

The First and Ninth Doctors had it right

First: Someday I may come back...but until then I'll leave you with a speech that is at the same time heart-warming and uplifting and heart-wrenching
Ninth: I was gonna take you to so many places. I still might but it won't be me. Oh well, we were both fantastic so let's leave it at that and get this over with.

*sigh* If only the Doctor had saved the Master, then maybe the Master could have made it so the Doctor didn't regenerate?

Ah, well, on every deviation's page there's a helpful Share section. It's got all the facebook/social buttons, a direct link, an embed code, and then under the embed code it should say thumb: and there's a number you can copy/paste that looks like :thumb#####:
I think it could be just a subscription feature though.

Just...Amazing. You caught his emotion perfectly.

That part made me so sad. Just in that one expression, you could really see how helpless, confused, desperate, etc. that Master really is. I wanted to hug him. ....Or at least see Doctor hug him. :<

And those BASTARD Time Tyrants are what made him that way. I'm SO glad he wiped the floor with their sorry asses. I just hope he comes back. D:
...Like the three other times in the series he suddenly re-appears when he shouldn't even exist anymore. XD

Pencil on regular paper, then scanned into Photoshop where I make the paper grey, then taken into Corel Painter where I add the highlights with the pencil tool.

I do it on white paper, then scan it to the computer and make it grey in Photoshop. Saves a lot of money, because the grey paper is expensive. Don't know what it's called though, sorry.

*Laughs* Yeah, that guy could really act, man! I really wished the Master would've lived on, and then he and the Doctor would've been (somewhat) friends again and they'd team up and...yeah. 'Cause he found out what was causing his head-drumming! I mean, is that cool or WHAT!?! *Nods* I mean, it's always a relief to find out what's wrong with your head! I know I was.
